TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
Tire Pressure Monitoring System, System Usage
Function:
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System is operated in MMI.
The system monitors tire pressure you have set and entered for monitoring.
Check and correct tire pressure according to specifications in the Owners Manual and store pressure via MMI.
Recode Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module J502.
If Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module J502 is replaced, new control module must be coded. To do this, proceed as follows.
- Connect VAS 5051B , perform vehicle-specific entry into Guided Fault Finding and select “Function/Component Selection” using Goto button –> “Connecting Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051B and selecting functions.”

“01- On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems”
“65 – Base Low Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module” or “65 – High Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module Sensor”
“J502 – Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module, functions”
“J502 – Code control module”
Tire pressure saving must be initiated after every desired change to specified pressures.
Save wheel change or tire pressures.
The correct saving of specified values in basic requirement for dependable tire pressure monitoring.
Switch ignition on.
Press “CAR” function button.
Using rotary switch, select “Systems” in CAR menu and acknowledge by pressing rotary switch.
Using rotary switch, select “Tire pressure monitoring” in CAR menu and acknowledge by pressing rotary switch.
Using rotary switch, select “Save tire pressures” or “Tire change” in CAR menu and acknowledge by pressing rotary switch.
Tire pressure saving must be initiated after every desired change to specified pressures.
STORING TIRE PRESSURE VALUES
NOTE:
Saving of tire pressures must be started after each deliberate change to specified values.
After storing, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System measures the current tire pressures and saves these as the new specified values. If the changed tire pressures are not displayed in the MMI display, then it is necessary to drive a short distances so that the tire sensor signal is received again.
Proceed as follows.
Switch ignition on.
Press “CAR” function button in MMI operating system.
In “Car Menu” , select sub-point “Systems”.
Select “Tire Pressure Monitoring System”.
Select “Save tire pressures”.
