PLEASE NOTE:If after following the instructions below the Check Engine Light does not flash it either means there are no fault codes or there is a connection error. To test connection, remove the TPS and run the engine then recheck codes.



INSTRUCTION:
1. If possible run the engine to bring the oxygen sensor up to operating temperature then switch the engine off.
2. Connect the terminals using your own jumper wire, as shown in the diagram above.
3. Turn ignition ON, the Check Engine Light (CEL) should be flashing on your car dashboard.

4. Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.

Erasing procedure.

  • After the faults have been rectified, trouble codes can be erased by using a Scan Tool connected to the data link connector (DLC) or as follows:

  • Remove radio fuse (7.5A) from underhood fusebox for 10 seconds minimum
  • Reinstall fuse.
  • Repeat checking procedure to ensure no data remains in ECM fault memory.

The Honda Ascot is a compact sedan manufactured by Honda and marketed only in Japan from 1989 to 1997. The first generation produced two versions based on the Honda Accord CB series called the Ascot and from 1993 to 1996 a “pillared hardtop” called the Ascot Innova. The Innova shared much of its mechanicals with the European-market Accord manufactured at the Honda UK facility in Swindon, England, and was essentially the badge engineered Rover 600. The second generation was a platform improvement, shared with the Japan-only sedan called the Honda Rafaga. The “Ascot” name was chosen with reference to the Ascot Racecourse and Ascot tie, in order to add the model an alleged air of class and elegance.

PLEASE NOTE:If after following the instructions below the Check Engine Light does not flash it either means there are no fault codes or there is a connection error. To test connection, remove the TPS and run the engine then recheck codes.



INSTRUCTION:
1. If possible run the engine to bring the oxygen sensor up to operating temperature then switch the engine off.
2. Connect the terminals using your own jumper wire, as shown in the diagram above.
3. Turn ignition ON, the Check Engine Light (CEL) should be flashing on your car dashboard.

READING CODE INSTRUCTION
• Each code is made up of two series of flashes.
• The long flashes indicate the ‘tens’ digits.
• The short flashes indicate the ‘ones’ digits.
• A long pause separates each code sequence.
• Code Format Diagram shows above is code No. 12.
• If nolongflashes are observed then the code is a straight count of short flashes. i.e. 4 flashes = code 4.

Erasing procedure.

  • After the faults have been rectified, trouble codes can be erased by using a Scan Tool connected to the data link connector (DLC) or as follows:
  • Switch ignition OFF.
  • Remove radio fuse (7.5A) from underhood fusebox for 10 seconds minimum
  • Reinstall fuse.
  • Repeat checking procedure to ensure no data remains in ECM fault memory.

LAUNCH X431 PAD3 QUICK INFORMATION.

“The X-431 PAD III, based on the Android system, is the latest high-end passenger car diagnostic scanner developed by Launch Tech. It inherits the company’s strengths in diagnostic technology, such as wide car model coverage, powerful test function, abundant special functions and accurate test data,” said General Manager Chia See Yong.

For the first time, claimed Chia, X-431 PAD III used two new technologies – the new licence-plate scanner technology and cloud diagnosis technology, which made the maintenance more intelligent and efficient.

Communicating with X-431 PAD III host via the Bluetooth connector, this new diagnostic scanner covers brands such as Maserati and Ferrari as well as most car models from Asia, Europe and America, achieving full car model and full system trouble diagnosis. Existing diagnostic functions include reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), clearing DTC, reading data stream, actuation test, special function, adaptation, coding and online programming, among others.

Meanwhile, the X-431 PAD IV HD is Launch’s high-end heavy duty vehicle scanner. Applicable for 12V and 24V ECUs, he said it covered 41 global commercial vehicles including those from Scania, Hino, Volvo and Isuzu. It is equipped with a 12-inch In-plane switching (IPS) screen display and diagnostic box with full comprehensive HD truck diagnostic software functions.

“It offers basic diagnosis, actuation test function, calibration function and special function. It also supports remote diagnosis by instant messaging and is convenient for asking help during offsite diagnosis. Other features include ECU reset, calibration and new Diagnosis Cloud module. The Diagnostic Community is an interactive community between users and repair shops. It is convenient to share experiences, publish help needed, add friends and send remote diagnostic request as well as support a variety of input from text, images, voice, video, data flow and diagnostic reports. This guide is about on how to RESET THE OIL SERVICE LIGHT ON YOUR FORD FOCUS DASHBOARD.

Before the instruction lets have a quick brief, why there is an oil service light on you dashboard.

Oil Change Reminder Lamp: Description and Operation

The message center provides an oil change minder to inform the driver that an oil change is required. The duration of the interval between oil changes is calculated in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and varies due to driving conditions. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) stores the oil life data in NVRAM (Non-Volatile Random Access Memory). If the battery is dead, the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is disconnected, reflashed or the KAM (Keep Alive Memory) is reset, the oil life settings remain in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and display the remaining oil life once the vehicle is restored to normal operation. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) assumes a base mileage of 16,090 km (10,000 mi) or 1 year for normal driving. However, this number is adjusted down for conditions such as high engine temperature, high engine RPM (Revolutions Per Minute), use of flex fuel and possibly low oil level. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) calculates and provides an engine service indication message to the BCM (Body Control Module). The BCM (Body Control Module) in turn provides the engine service indication message to the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster).

HERE IS THE RESET PROCEDURE.

Oil Change Reminder Lamp: Reset Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition key to the on position. Do not start the engine. For vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the START/STOP button for two seconds without pressing the brake pedal. DO NOT attempt to start the engine.
  2. Press both the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time.
  3. Keep both pedals fully pressed.
  4. After three seconds, the Service: Oil reset in prog. message will be displayed.
  5. After 25 seconds, the Service: Oil reset complete message will be displayed.
  6. Release both the accelerator and brake pedals.
  7. The Service: Oil reset complete message will no longer be displayed.
  8. Rotate the key to the off position.

 

NOTE: For vehicles with push-start button start, press the START/STOP button to turn the vehicle off completely.

Here we are! Thank you for visiting my website. I am sure you are curious on how to do the proper idle and throttle learning on your HONDA CIVIC.

First you need the Scan tool. You can Use ant scan tool that support ECM/ECU reset. Like Launch X431 pro. 

 

Lets start the Procedure.

Engine Control Module: Programming and Relearning PCM Idle Learn Procedure.

The idle learn procedure must be done so the PCM can learn the engine idle characteristics.

 

You must DO/PERFORM idle/ throttle  learn  whenever you do any of these actions:

 

  1. –      Replace the PCM.
  2. –       Reset the PCM.
  3. –      Update the PCM.
  4. –      Replace or clean the throttle body.
  5. –      Disassemble the engine or the transmission.

IF YOU DO 1  OF THE ACTIONS ABOVE, YOU MUST PERFORM THE IDLE/THROTTLE LEARN.

NOTE: Clearing DTCs with the DIAGNOSTIC TOOL does not require you to do the idle learn procedure.



Procedure

  1. Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio system, lights, etc.) are off.
  2. Reset the PCM with the DIAGNOSTIC TOOL.
  3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and wait 2 seconds.
  4. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, or until the engine coolant temperature reaches 194 °F (90 °C).
  5. Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes with the throttle fully closed.

NOTE: If the radiator fan comes on, do not include its running time in the 5 minutes.
